Rooted For You
Welcomes You
Let's continue to water our roots!
Rooted For You is a nonprofit organization & 501c3 recognized, who focus on uplifting and encouraging seniors & youth in low socioeconomic areas.
Who We Are
Our Roots
We are established and rooted in Dallas, Texas. In 2020 during the beginning of the pandemic Rooted for You was birthed after noticing our community was being neglected in low socioeconomic areas. But due to the pandemic, many priorities withered, and the youth & seniors were mostly affected. We create small care-packages or gifts for the to encourage & uplift.
We CARE!
Rooted For You creates care-packages for the seniors and youth to help encourage and motivate. We host a list of events throughout the year that assist our youth with social skills, career development, resume writing, dieting & cooking, and self-expression through art.
Although Rooted For You is a small part of a bigger vision, the long-term goal is to establish a career cybercafé that’ll have resources to assist with resume writing, small business workshops, food demos, and movie nights. These are just a few of the ideas we have and know we will reach these goals soon!
Mentorship
Rooted For You is achieving more with our initiatives than ever before, and we are very proud of the progress we continue to make. Below are some of our most recent projects. Learn more about what we do, who we help, and how we work every day to create a lasting impact.
Rooted also host a mentoring program for the youth in these low socioeconomic areas in Dallas and neighboring cities. These specific areas lack stability in the home and social skills that'll help the youth excel in the future. My tenure with teaching high school students enlightened me to the areas of focus many individuals overlook. I decided to build a safe space for students to bloom and tap into their self to really dig into their core to water the seed planted in them. We focus on high-schoolers because their next step is the real-world, that isn’t structured like grade-school. Our youth need to have opportunity to be prepared and strategic as they choose their future, be it higher education or a trade. We want them to feel comfortable and secure with all their decisions, because they are our future! As a former teacher, I understand the importance of building relationships that nourish and blossom all parties involved. We mentor junior & senior students to help guide them to planning their future with no limits. Our youth are phenomenal and when equipped with the tools they can be anything they choose to be. Sometimes they just need a small push.
